MGCCC baseball splits at Hinds
April 8, 2010

Trey Porter tallied three home runs against Hinds Apr. 7.
RAYMOND---Trey Porter smacked three home runs…two in the nightcap as Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College won game two 6-2 in 10 innings to earn a split with MACJC South Division leading Hinds Apr. 7. The Eagles took game one 18-3.
Porter, a freshman from Hurley, had a solo blast in game one and went 3-for-5 with two more homers in the Gulf Coast victory to give him seven on the season. That ties him with Patrick Kirkland and Jeremy Hill for the team lead in homeruns. Bulldog pitcher Anthony Izzio (3-1) went nine innings and struck out 11 for the victory in game two while Ty Lain, Corey Groue, and Will White each had two hits.
Gulf Coast (20-9, 6-6) heads to east Central for another MACJC South Division doubleheader Apr. 10.
