Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College had another eventful day on the baseball diamond as the Bulldogs split an MACJC South Division doubleheader with Co-Lin…losing game one 6-4 in 8 innings but rebounding to win the nightcap 7-6.

Gulf Coast (24-13, 10-10) remains tied with Pearl River in the battle for a playoff spot in the MACJC.

The Bulldogs built a 4-2 lead on the Wolves in game one behind a two-run double by Trey Porter, a bases loaded walk, and an RBI single by Patrick Kirkland. However, Co-Lin tied the game at 4 and sent it to extra innings before scoring two in the 8th to seal the victory.

Gulf Coast built a 3-0 lead in game two only to see the Wolves come back to tie it at 4. The Bulldogs scored on a bases loaded wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh to ensure the win.

Gulf Coast takes on Jones Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Curley Farris Field in Perkinston.
