SENATOBIA, Ms.---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College upped its winning streak to seven by pounding Northwest in a doubleheader sweep Saturday. The Bulldogs (8-3) took game one 10-1 as winning pitcher Sean Kennel chalked up 10 more strikeouts in six innings of work. Patrick Kirkland led the Gulf Coast offensive attack with three hits and two RBI while Jeremy Hill, Will White, and Derek Davis each chipped in two hits.
In the 11-2 nightcap victory, Jordan Steele got the win on the mound while Zach DeSoto went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI'S, and three runs scored. Ty Lain also had two hits while Jan Butler smacked a three-run homer.
MGCCC will be on the road again this Tuesday for a doubleheader against Coahoma in Jackson.
