PERKINSTON---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College avenged a doubleheader sweep at Pearl River Mar. 24 by brewing up their own 13-4, 7-4 sweep of the archrival Wildcats Saturday. The two wins pull Gulf Coast (23-12, 9-9) into a fourth place tie with Pearl River in the MACJC South Division with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

The Bulldogs scored seven runs in the first inning en route to a 13-4 romp in game one of the twinbill. Bryan Babin (4-1) got the win on the mound while Derek Davis ignited the Bulldogs offense with a first-inning grand slam which gave his team a 5-0 lead. Brandon Cavataio wnet 4-for-4 with 2 singles, a double, and a triple while Jeremy Hill went 3-for-3 including a homer, 3 RBI, and three runs scored. Trey Porter added a two-run homer in the victory.

The 7-4 win in the nightcap was paced by another 3-for-3 outing by Jeremy Hill including another homerun and 2 RBI and a 3-for-4, two homerun outburst by Will White.

Gulf Coast takes on Co-Lin Apr. 21 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Perkinston.
