POPLARVILLE---The offense for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College suffered a power outage Wednesday as the Bulldogs were swept by Pearl River 8-3 and 3-0. Gulf Coast (15-6, 3-3) could only manage five hits in game one and only one hit in the nightcap. Pearl River jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening game but the Bulldogs battled back to make the score 5-3 thanks to a 2-run homerun by Jeremy Hill and an RBI double from Zach DeSoto. The Wildcats then responded with three unanswered runs to seal the victory.
In the nightcap, Jay Bell got the team's lone hit against the homestanding Wildcats. Gulf Coast will try to rebound at Co-Lin Saturday.
