Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College continues to set the pace in the MACJC South Division after Saturday's 7-6, 11-9 sweep of East Central at Curly Farris Field in Perkinston.

The Bulldogs (18-6, 5-1) have now won four straight and 11 out of their last 12 games.

Despite committing three errors that lead to four East Central runs, Gulf Coast used timely hitting and clutch pitching by Clint Dempster and Skylor Burts to win game one. Burts got the win on the mound, while Kenneth Atwood drove in 2 runs and Will White had two hits.

In the nightcap, Michael Baxter picked up the win while Burts earned a save. Matt Ross, Jeremy Hill, and Jan Butler each had two hits for the Bulldogs.

Nest week Gulf Coast travels to Hinds on Tuesday and to Mississippi Delta on Thursday.
