MGCCC baseball sweeps East Mississippi

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College made it three out of four against East Mississippi this season thanks to an 8-5, 3-0 doubleheader sweep of the Lions Saturday at Perk. Gulf Coast (9-5) took game one begind a 3-for-4, 2 RBI effort from Jarrod Cannette. Jeremy Hill and Will White both chipped in two hits a piece, with Hill driving in two and White picking up an RBI and scoring two runs. Drew Granier gave up one run in five innings of work to earn the victory.
In the nightcap, Luke Briley shut out the Lions through four innings while Kenneth Atwood got the win and Skylor Burts earned a save. Jeremy Hill had two more hits in game two including a 2-run homerun. Matt Ross also smacked an RBI double for Gulf Coast. The Bulldogs begin MACJC South Division play Tuesday at Co-Lin with games times at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
