PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast midfielders Jordan Hall and L.T. Massey have been named Student-Athletes of the Week for Sept. 5-11.
Jordan Hall (5-9, 163, Fr., Royton and Crompton/Manchester, England) had five goals and three assists in a pair of wins that saw Gulf Coast outscore the opposition 12-2. He had two goals and an assist in a 5-2 victory over Jones County on Tuesday, then added three goals and two assists in a 7-0 blowout of Copiah-Lincoln on Friday. He is tied for sixth in the country with seven goals this season, one behind a pack of five players at eight.
L.T. Massey (5-6, Fr., Oak Grove/Hattiesburg) had her first two career goals in a 7-0 win over Copiah-Lincoln. She also has an assist this season.
Tyler Flathau, a sophomore punter from Hattiesburg, averaged 42.6 yards on seven punts against East Mississippi.
Isaiah Buggs, a sophomore defensive end from Ruston, La., had five tackles, an assist, 1 sack, 2 pass breakups and five quarterback hurries against East Mississippi.
