PERKINSTON — Women's soccer player Shannon Swilley and football player Larry Sisson have been named Mississippi Gulf Coast Student-Athletes of the Week for Oct. 10-16.
Swilley (5-4, Fr., Pass Christian/Pass Christian) had three goals and an assist in Gulf Coast's two dominating wins over Copiah-Lincoln and Southwest. She scored twice and set up another in an 8-0 win over Co-Lin and added a goal in the 6-0 win over Southwest.
Sisson (6-0, 210, So., Resurrection/Pascagoula) completed 24 of 36 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns in his first collegiate start. Sisson had 13 straight completions to open the game, helping lead the Bulldogs to a 47-35 win at Southwest.
Jess Shepherd (5-6, Fr., Parrswood/Manchester, England) had four goals and an assist in two Gulf Coast wins. She had two goals and an assist in an 8-0 win over Copiah-Lincoln and two more scores in a 6-0 win over Southwest.
Kassady Walters (5-9, So., Harrison Central/Saucier) picked up her seventh and eighth shutouts of the season in wins over Copiah-Lincoln and Southwest. She made six saves while picking up 8-0 and 6-0 victories.
Liam Eadsforth (5-11, 145, Fr., The Radclyffe School/Manchester, England) had a goal and two assists in Gulf Coast's 4-1 victory over Southwest.
Joshua Rowland (5-10, 190, So., Madison Central/Madison) made all four field goal attempts, including three 40-plus yarders, in a 47-35 win at Southwest. Rowland made two 44-yard field goals, a 42-yarder and one from 22. He also nailed all five extra-point attempts.
T'Rod Daniels (5-9, 190, So., Bassfield/Bassfield) ran 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns in a 47-35 victory at Southwest. He also caught five passes for 82 yards and added another touchdown.
Vaughnte Dorsey (5-11, 195, So., Cleveland/Cleveland, Miss.) had nine solo tackles, five assists and two pass breakups in MGCCC's 47-35 win at Southwest.
