PERKINSTON — D'yasmond Booker and Daphane White have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Nov. 11-17.
White, a sophomore center from St. Martin, averaged 14.5 points and 13.5 in a 2-0 week. She started off the week with a mammoth 20-point, 19-rebound, seven-block performance in a 63-59 win over host Northwest in the Lady Ranger Classic. She turned around the following morning and had nine points, eight rebounds and four blocks in a 60-48 win over Mississippi Delta.
Booker, a freshman guard/forward from Pascagoula, narrowly missed a pair of double-doubles during a 2-0 week for Gulf Coast. He had 25 points and nine rebounds in a 79-53 win at Coastal Alabama-East, and turned in a monstrous 17-point, 20-rebound effort in a 75-67 win over Delgado. He also had two assists and three steals against the Dolphins.
