Golf team blows away field at Co-Lin Invitational

Brandon Herrington was one of three MGCCC golfers named to the All-Tournament Team at the Co-Lin Invitational Mar. 8-9.

Richie Williams earned medalist honors at the Co-Lin Invitational Mar. 8-9.

WESSON---Mississippi Gulf Coast won the 11-team Copiah-Lincoln Invitational played at Wolf Hollow Golf Club and Brookhaven Country Club. The Bulldogs shot 290-288--578 to win by 23 shots over East Mississippi 601. Northeast and host Copiah-Lincoln finished 3rd at 603, followed by East Cenral 607, Northwest 608, Itawamba 618, Hinds 641, Jones 667, Pearl River 668, and Holmes 685.

Richie Williams won his 4th career tournament for Gulf Coast with rounds of 69-69--138, 6 shots ahead of teammate Brandon Herrington at 144. Both were named to the All-tournament team along with teammate Skyler Dennis 146. Gulf Coast's Taylor Michie tied for 10th at 150, followed by Nic Ishee 152, Colin McNamara 154, and Michael Wilkinson 157. Gulf Coast has won the first three MACJC events and will close the regular season out at the Northeast/Itawamba Invitational March 29-30.
