GULFPORT, Ms.---Meridian Community College beat a stellar field that included three former National Champions at the 2009 MGCCC Hilton Garden Inn Invitational Golf Tournament Oct. 19-20 at Windance Country Club. The Eagles put together rounds of 287-294--581 to win the 18-team tournament by 16 shots over South Mountain (AZ) and John A Logan College (IL).
Gulf Coast finished in 8th place, moving up one spot after shooting 304 in Round Two. Meridian's Cory Williamson took Medalist honors after rounds of 70-72--144, while teammates Garrett Westbrook (145) and Clemens Dvorak (146) were named to the All-Tournament Team. Skyler Dennis led Gulf Coast with a 77-76-153 total, followed by Brandon Herrington (154), Richie Williams (155), Colin McNamara (156), Michael Wilkinson (159) and Nic Ishee (164).
Gulf Coast has one more fall match at East Central Nov. 9-10.
