MGCCC’s Williams signs with So. Illinois

The list of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College golfers that have signed with four year colleges/universities grew by one this week as Bulldog sophomore Richie Williams signed With Southern Illinois University. Earlier this month, three other Bulldog golfers signed with William Carey University.
Williams, a Wiggins native, is a two-time MACJC First-Team All-State honoree and has won four tournaments while at Gulf Coast. In 2009 Williams was the Hubert Tucker Award winner, an honor that honor that goes to the state’s best golfer in terms of scoring average (72.80) during the season. In 2010 Williams averaged 75.13 and helped Gulf Coast win three regular season tournaments and the MACJC State Tournament Apr. 12-13.
Gulf Coast is looking to win its third straight Region 23 Title Apr. 25-26 at Eagle Ridge Golf Course at Hinds Community College.
