Copiah Lincoln Wins MACJC State Golf Championship

Co-Lin won the MACJC State Championship at Kirkwood National Golf Club in Holly Springs with rounds of 329-326-655. Mississippi Gulf Coast finished 2nd at 666, followed by East MS 669, Northeast 670, Hinds 671, Holmes 690, Northwest 692, East Central 700, Itawamba 707, Pearl River 739, and Jones 772.
Hinds' Elliott Bingham took medalist honors with a 79-79-158 total after high winds and low temperatures sent the scores skyward. Corey Ward shot 161 to lead Gulf Coast, followed by Richie Williams 167, Nic Ishee 172, Colin McNamara 173, and Michael Wilkinson 174. The top five teams will compete in Region 23 Golf Championship at the MSU Golf Course in Starkville April 27-28.
