Gulf Coast wins NJCAA Region 23

Mississippi Gulf Coast won the NJCAA Region 23 Golf Championship at the 6900-yard MSU Golf Course in Starkville, MS with rounds of 304-302-606. The Bulldogs will represent Region 23 at the NJCAA National Championship at Goose Pond Colony Golf Course in Scottsboro, AL May 19-22. East Mississippi finished second with a 624 total, followed by Copiah-Lincoln 636, Northeast 637 and Hinds 638.

MGCCC's Richie Williams fired rounds of 72-74-146 to beat teammate Corey Ward 148 by two shots. Hinds' Elliott Bingham and Gulf Coast's Nic Ishee finished 3rd with 149 totals. Richie Williams (MGCCC), Corey Ward (MGCCC), Nic Ishee (MGCCC), Elliott Bingham (Hinds) and Ryan Ratcliff (Co-Lin) took home All Region honors.

Coach Tommy Snell was named Region 23 Coach of the Year.
