Second Day's results from Division II Golf Nationals

South Mountain (AZ) Community College shot a five under par 283 today to take the lead at NJCAA Division II Golf Nationals, being played at Goose Pond Colony in Scottsboro, AL. The Cougars were led by Adam Winwood who fired a 64 today to give him a two day total of 141. John A. Logan (IL) College shot a four under 284 today to move into second place behind South Mountain CC. Tyler Eckenburg shot a 68 today to lead the Volunteers. Darton (GA) College shot a 291 (581) today to place third ahead of Tyler (TX) JC (585) and Grand Rapids CC (586).

On the individual side David Griffin of Rend Lake (IL) College still leads the tournament with a 136 after carding a 70 today. Corey Ward of Mississippi Gulf Coast CC is second with a 139 after shooting a 71 today. Elliott Bingham of Hinds (MS) CC shot a 69 today as did Jin Chung of Darton (GA) College to tie for third at 140. Eckenburg and Winwood are tied at 141, while Brian Affleck is sixth with at 142.

The third round will tee off tomorrow at 7:00 at Goose Pond Colony in Scottsboro, AL. Scores are posted as they come in at the Goose Pond website, www.goosepond.org.
