ECCC to Host JUCO All-Star Basketball Games

Sophomore basketball standouts representing the state’s community and junior colleges will have an opportunity to showcase their talents when the annual Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star Basketball Games are held Thursday, March 25, 2010, at East Central Community College in Decatur.

The women’s matchup begins at 5 p.m. and will be followed by the men’s contest at 7 p.m. in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building.

Admission is $5 per person.

Named to the South Division women’s squad are Danielle Cole and Yolanda Jones, both of East Central; Latoria Holder and Rachel Vigers, both of Copiah-Lincoln; Ashley Lee and Brigit Taylor, both of Jones County; Octavia Bearden and Ta’keya Felder, both of Southwest; Brooke Eccles and Kiara Johnson, both of Gulf Coast; Kiana McCarty, Hinds; and Brittany Weathers, Pearl River.

North Division women All-Stars are Rumae Butler and Al’Lisha Hudson, all of Northeast; De’Kisha Fonden, Hope Adams and Tamara Wadlington, all of Northwest; Birdie Bowens, Lori Crudup and Destini Shannon, all of Itawamba; Martika Hull, East Mississippi; Tiffany Haynes, Holmes; and Britney Lakes and Ashley Love, both of Mississippi Delta.

Selected on the South men’s team are Antonio Grace, East Central; Chad Jones and Derrick Harris, both of Southwest; Michael Campbell and Dwayne Brown, both of Copiah-Lincoln; Chris Wallace and Mark Wilkerson, both of Hinds; Travis Rasco, Gulf Coast; Kenderick Washington and Rod Little, both of Pearl River; and Kendrick McDonald and Todd McDonald, both of Jones.

Representing the North men’s division are Chris Gamble and Terrance Allen, both of Northeast; Justin Gillard, Northwest; Falando Jones and Lonnie Cottrell, both of Mississippi Delta; Gabe Osagie and Clyde Moore, both of Holmes; John Harris and CoCo Ware, both of East Mississippi; Donteeno Todd, Coahoma; and Wesley McIntosh, Itawamba.
