The MGCCC Bulldogs improved to 4-0 with an 88-76 win over Loyola's JV on the road Thursday.

Marlon Williams led the Bulldogs with 26 points while Raymond Cintron and Willis Brownlee each chipped in 16.

So far in 2009-10, Gulf Coast has come together with only two returning starters from last year’s Region 23 Championship squad. Cintron, a freshman from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Marlon Williams, another freshman from Moss Point, have joined returning sophomores Brownlee and Calvin Walker to pace the team’s fast start. Freshman Matthew Washington, sophomore Collin Goley, and transfer sophomores Carneillus Denson and Marvin Adams have also contributed so far this fall.

“We had a really solid recruiting season,” said Gulf Coast head coach Wendell Weathers. “We lost some kids but were able to sign some pretty talented players that have come in and helped us right away.”

Gulf Coast travels to Delgado Saturday in men’s and women’s action.
