MGCCC Improves to 3-0 with win over Delgado

PERKINSTON, Ms.---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College upped its 2009-10 record to 3-0 with a 109-88 win over Delgado Tuesday Night at the Weathers/Wentzell Center.

Once again freshman point guard Raymond Cintron led the way with 31 points as the Bulldogs (3-0) built a 59-41 halftime lead. Marlon Williams had 19 points while Willis Brownlee and Matthew Washington each had 16.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-1 in a 69-59 loss to Delgado. The game was tied 32-32 at halftime but the Lady Dolphins used a 15-5 run to start the second half. Gulf Coast made a 9-0 run at the end of the game to cut the Delgado lead to six but it wasn’t enough.

Brianne Collins, Brooke Eccles, and Kiara Johnson each had 12 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs.

Both Gulf Coast teams travel to Delgado Saturday with the men’s team taking on Loyola’a JV squad Thursday on the road.
