PERKINSTON---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College overtook MACJC South Division leading Hinds Thursday and came away with an 82-74 win to up their record to 14-6 overall and 4-3 in the South Division. Hinds led for most of the contest until the Bulldogs went on a 21-5 run in the last six minutes of the game to seal the win. Raymond CIntron and Travis Rascoe each had 22 points for Gulf Coast while WIllis Brownlee added 16.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 31-10 lead in the first half en route to an 81-37 pounding of Hinds. Kiara Johnson led Gulf Coast (7-12, 3-4) with 25 points while Deonica McCormick had 17 and Brooke Eccles added 15.
Gulf Coast travels to Jones Feb. 1 to take on the Bobcats in Ellisville.
