MGCCC basketball teams sweep Miss. Delta

PERKINSTON, Ms.---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College enjoyed two victories over Mississippi Delta Thursday Night at the Weathers/Wentzell Center.
The Bulldogs (2-0) defeated the Trojans 81-77 as freshman point guard Raymond Cintron poured in 27 points to lead all scorers. Gulf Coast led 52-39 at halftime but the Trojans went on a 13-4 run to open the second half and keep it close the rest of the way.
The Lady Bulldogs opened their 2009-10 campaign with a 72-58 win over Miss. Delta. Kiara Johnson led the way with 14 points while five other Lady Bulldogs scored in double figures. Brooke Eccles had 11 points and Kaci Burkhalter, Nicole Edwards, Ebony Davis, and Ashley Lewis each had 10.
Gulf Coast takes on Delgado Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Weathers/Wentzell Center.
