Jennifer Centola
Jennifer Centola will step in as the new dance coordinator for the Perkettes Dance Team, part of the Band of Gold. The dancers will also have new uniforms and a new routine for their football halftime show, parades and more.
Centola has a bachelor of arts in dance performance and a master’s degree in exercise physiology, both from The University of Southern Mississippi. She has almost 15 years of experience coordinating dance teams. She has big ideas about getting the Perkettes more in the public eye and participating in state and regional competitions.
“Of course, this year is a transition year, so we will be sticking close to some old things and trying a few new ones,” she says. “I want to follow the big traditions already established here at Perk, with the addition of parades and other things that will make the team more well known throughout the community. We want to strive to be the best in Mississippi, and that means competitions.”
