Men clinch MACJC South Division title

GULFPORT, Ms.---Eight is great for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Bulldogs clinched their 8th MACJC South Division title with a 7-0 shutout of Co-Lin Saturday at the Gulfport Sportsplex.

The Bulldogs (12-0-2, 8-0) were led by a five-goal outburst by Angel Plascencia. Jonathan Marin, Cory Caranna, and Cameron Bosley each chipped in a goal for the unbeaten squad.

The Lady Bulldogs (11-3-1, 6-2) also shut out Co-Lin 4-0 as Kelli Ranson scored twice while Courtney Fairley and Ashley Harvey each finding the net. Gulf Coast is pushing for a playoff spot in next week’s MACJC State Tournament at Hinds.

Both teams will take on Co-Lin again Oct. 19 at Wesson and then finish the regular season Oct. 21 at Pearl River.
