PERKINSTON-Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College swept Hinds Saturday at Perkinston. The men’s team (2-0-1) defeated Hinds 1-0 on a first half goal by Angel Placencia. The victory avenges a loss to the Eagles in the 2008 MACJC State Championship Game a year ago.
The Lady Bulldogs ran their record to 2-0 with a 5-1 win over Hinds as Keli Ranson, Allison Gray and Courtney Fairley all found the net for the Lady Bulldogs. Gulf Coast also defeated Hinds to earn the 2008 MACJC state title.
Gulf Coast hosts Northwest Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
