The MACJC State Champions after a 3-2 win over Hinds Oct. 25.
Bulldogs face Hinds/Meridian winner Saturday
Each week the men’s soccer team at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College reaches a new plateau. On Oct. 25, the Bulldogs beat Hinds 3-2 in double-overtime to win their second MACJC State Title since 1998 and remain unbeaten at 16-0-2.
The next challenge is the Region 23 soccer finals Oct. 31 at Pearl River Community College. Gulf Coast will take on the Hinds/Meridian winner at 5p.m. for the championship. Gulf Coast hasn’t won a Region 23 title since 2002 when the team took home State and Regional crowns.
“This team has been a close-knit group all season,” said Gulf Coast soccer coach Barry Thrash. “They spend time off the field together and they really like one another.”
