MGCCC Softball splits at NW Florida

NICEVILLE, Fl.---No. 7 ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College split a doubleheader with Northwest Florida Community College Wednesday, taking game one 8-1 and dropping the nightcap 13-5.

In the opening victory, the Lady Bulldogs (8-2) won in eight innings behind a complete game victory from Linsey Dickerson (3-0) who struck our eight and only gave up five hits. Mariah Partman had four hits including a grand slam with five RBI's. Courtney Fairley added two hits and Lauren Bates drove in three.

Gulf Coast could only manage seven hits in the 13-5 loss, with Bates adding two more hits and two RBI'S and Mandy Fuller smacked her third homer of the season. Brittany Fields (2-1) absorbed the loss in the circle. Gulf Coast travels to East Mississippi March 2.
