No. 9 Lady Bulldogs on 13 game winning streak

Down 2-0 to Jones and with no hits in six innings, No. 9 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College needed to wake up on offense.

That’s exactly what happened as Mandy Fuller launched a two-run homer and Mariah Partman added a solo shot as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Jones 3-2 and then won the nightcap 11-7 to earn a sweep of the MACJC South Division doubleheader.

The Lady Bulldogs (26-6, 10-2) have now won 13 straight games.

“We came out flat but we were able to find a way to win,” said Gulf Coast head coach Kenneth Long. In the game one victory, pitcher Linsey Dickerson (12-2) went seven innings and struck out five while Tiffany Fuller added two hits.

Lady Bulldog pitcher Lauren Bates won the nightcap to up her record to 9-1 and Megan Colvin had three hits and drove in two. Fuller had two more hits in the game two win while Kayla Moran drove in three. Sarah Smaltz and Lauren Bates each had two RBI.

Gulf Coast will host Hinds Friday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
