MGCCC softball swept by East Central

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College now finds itself in a fight for the MACJC South Division title after being swept by East Central 2-1 and 12-3 Friday in Perkinston.

In game one, Bulldog pitcher Linsey Dickerson (14-5) was the tough luck loser, giving up two runs on three hits over eight innings. One of those three hits was a two-run homer by Hannah Lee to give East Central a 2-1 lead in the top of the 8th. The Lady Bulldogs got one run on the bottom of the 8th to cut the lead to one. East Central pitcher Taylor Bailey gave up only two hits over eight innings for the win.

The Lady Warriors used a six-run second inning in game two to blow open a 3-3 tie and take the sweep over Gulf Coast (30-12, 14-8). The Lady Bulldogs conclude the regular season Apr. 26 when they host Jones at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
