MGCCC softball swept by Southwest

SUMMITT---No. 9 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College saw its 15 game winning streak come to a halt Apr. 12 as Southwest swept the No. 9 Lady Bulldogs 6-3 and 7-6.
Gulf Coast pitcher Linsey Dickerson watched her record fall to 13-3 in the game one setback while Julie Mercer had a homerun and Tiffany Fuller had two hits. In the 7-6 nightcap, Lauren Bates (10-2) absorbed the loss. At the plate Julie Mercer had three more hits including a homerun, Sarah Smaltz also had three hits and a homer and Megan Colvin had two hits.
The Lady Bulldogs (28-8, 12-4) will host archrival Pearl River Apr. 14 at 3 p.m and 5 p.m.
