Lady Bulldogs roll to 6-0 start

It's a satisfying start to 2010 for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Lady Bulldogs are a perfect 6-0 after sweeping East Mississippi in a softball doubleheader at Perk.
In game one, a 3-2 victory, Lauren Bates ran her pitching record to 2-0 while Megan Colvin drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th with a base hit that scored Courtney Fairley.
The Lady Bulldogs, ranked No. 7 in the NJCAA Division II poll, took the nightcap 6-3 behind homeruns from Mandy Fuller and Lauren Bates and three hits from Courtney Fairley. Brittany Fields got the win in the circle to up her record to 2-0.
Gulf Coast takes on LSU-Eunice Saturday in a doubleheader at Perk with game times at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
