PERKINSTON---No. 7 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College bounced back to win the second game of a doubleheader with Southwest to even it's MACJC South Division record at 2-2. The Lady Bears took game one 1-0 behind a shoutout performance by freshman pitcher Ashlyn Grisaffe. Gulf Coast pitcher Linsey Dickerson (6-2) was the hard luck loser in the series opener as she gave up one run on five hits and struck out six. The Lady Bulldogs took the nightcap 9-5 as Lauren Bates upped her record to 5-1 and Sarah Smaltz assaulted Southwest at the plate by going 4-for-4 with a homerun, a double, two hits, and 6 RBI. Courtney Fairley, Megan Colvin, and Kayla Moran each had two hits in the game two win. Gulf Coast (14-6, 2-2) hosts Faulkner St. Mar. 18 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
