MGCCC Softball sweeps Jones

On a perfect day in Perkinston, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College was a perfect 2-for-2 against Jones, sweeping the Lady Bobcats 8-0, 5-2 to run their 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the MACJC South Division. Jones falls to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the South Division.
Game one featured a six-run second inning by the Lady Bulldogs, who got two hits a piece from Holly Lawrence, Cassie Slaton, and Julie Mercer. Brandi Westerfield chalked up a shut out on the mound for Gulf Coast.
In game two, The Lady Bulldogs got a strong outing on the mound from Brittany Fields, who gave up two hits and struck out seven. Fields now has 27 strikeouts on the season. At the plate, Tiffany Fuller had two of the team's eight hits.
Gulf Coast travels to East Central Mar. 12 for a doubleheader wsith the Lady Warriors.
