MGCCC softball splits home doubleheader with East Central

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College dropped the first game against East Central but bounced to win game two and earned a doubleheader split Wednesday at Perk.
The Lady Bulldogs (17-7, 14-4) lost game one 8-6 after jumping out to an early 3-0 lead. Brandi Westerfield (7-3) suffered the loss, while Tiffany Fuller, Holly Lawrence, Sarah Smaltz, and Kayla Moran each had two hits at the plate.
In the nightcap, Gulf Coast shut out the Lady Warriors 9-0 as Brittany Fields upped her pitching record to 9-3. Lindsey Keyes and Cassie Slaton each had two hits and two RBI’S, while Tiffany Fuller drove in three.
Gulf Coast travels to Hinds next Wednesday to face the Lady Eagles at Noon and 2 p.m.
