MGCCC softball splits with Co-Lin

Lindsey Keyes smacked a grand-slam, walk-off homerun in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday to help Gulf Coast win the second game against Co-Lin 5-2 and earn a split in the doubleheader series against the defending Region 23 champions.
The Lady Wolves took the first game 9-4 despite a solo homerun by Megan Colvin, who leads Gulf Coast with a .427 batting average.
Keyes, a sophomore from Brandon, helped the Lady Bulldogs avoid a sweep with her first homerun of the season.
On Mar. 4, Gulf Coast (12-6, 9-3) split with Co-Lin in Wesson.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to Jones Saturday for a doubleheader with the Lady Bobcats. Game times are Noon and 2 p.m.
