Monday evening Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College showed no ill effects after an 11-day layoff as the Lady Bulldogs swept Hinds 8-1, 14-1 at Perkinston.

Gulf Coast (10-4, 7-1) has now won seven in a row and six straight in the MACJC South Division.

In game one, Brandi Westerfield upped her record to 4-1 as she struck out five and gave up one run. At the plate, Julie Mercer went 3 for-4 with and RBI while Sarah Smaltz had 2 hits and drove in three. In the nightcap, Brittany Fields struck out five and got the win. her fifth of the season against one loss. The Lady Bulldogs 12 hit offensive assault on Hinds was led by Smaltz, who went 3-for-3 with a homerun, two doubles, and five RBI. Tiffany Fuller also drove in three.

The Lady Bulldogs take on archrival Pearl River Wed. at Perk. Game times are 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
