Mississippi Gulf Coast was three outs away from a sweep of Hinds but had to settle for a split in Raymond.
The Bulldogs (18-10, 7-5 MACJC) rallied twice from deficits to win the first game 11-8. They took a first-inning lead in the second game and led all the way until a seventh-inning rally gave the Eagles (17-9, 6-4) a 4-3 win.
"We played well all day, except for that last inning. We couldn't miss a barrel," Gulf Coast coach Rodney Batts said. "We swung the bats well. We had 14 hits in the first game, some big hits. We played pretty well and played hard."
Gulf Coast returns to action Saturday when Mississippi Delta visits Ken "Curly" Farris Field. The doubleheader starts at 2 p.m.
