MGCCC loses doubleheader at Meridian

Mississippi Gulf Coast fell twice at Meridian on Saturday, losing 11-1 in six innings and 10-1 in the nightcap.

 

The Bulldogs (25-13, 9-11 MACJC) have lost six straight and are in a third-place tie in the conference. Meridian improves to 29-9, 16-6.

 

Gulf Coast managed only three hits in the opener, with Preston Stringer (Fr, Stone/Perkinston) getting a double.

 

The Bulldogs had eight hits in the second game, but seven were singles. Colby Cagle (So, West Harrison/Lizana) had a double.

 

MGCCC continues a six-game road stretch Tuesday at Southwest. First pitch in Summit is scheduled for 3 p.m.
