Football plays five home games in 2017

PERKINSTON — After two consecutive years of more road regular-season games than at home, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College gets five games at A.L. May Memorial Stadium in 2017.

The Bulldogs open the season against Itawamba on Aug. 31 and play three of their last four games in Perkinston.

Itawamba is one of two teams on the schedule that featured in the final NJCAA top 20 after last season. The Indians were ranked 19th, and Gulf Coast's second game is a road trip to No. 2 East Mississippi.

Gulf Coast's home schedule includes East Central (Sept. 21), Mississippi Delta (Oct. 5) and Southwest (Oct. 12). Homecoming will be Oct. 28 when Jones County visits Perkinston.

That game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. All other home games start at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs also play road games at Copiah-Lincoln (Sept. 14), Hinds (Sept. 28) and Pearl River (Oct. 21).
