No. 1 Mississippi Gulf Coast is in third place after the opening round of the Wallace State Fall Invitational, played Monday in Cullman, Ala.
The host team shot 6-under and leads second-place Central Alabama by 11 shots. The Bulldogs shot 7-over in the first round, led by Brice Wilkinson (Fr. Madison Central/Madison).
He shot 2-under 70 and is two behind a pair of Wallace State golfers. Only five golfers finished in red numbers after the first day.
