No. 6 Lady Bulldogs host Coahoma

PERKINSTON — No. 6 Mississippi Gulf Coast will try to extend a three-game win streak Friday when Coahoma visits West Harrison High School.


The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs are playing their home schedule at three South Mississippi high schools while Ross-Smith Field gets a new stadium on the Perkinston campus.


The Lady Bulldogs (16-7, 5-1 MACJC) came from behind to win in both games against Hinds on Tuesday. Coahoma (0-14, 0-4) is looking for its first win of the season.


Izzy Werdann (So, Pensacola, Fla./Tate) slugged her team-high fourth home run in the nightcap against Hinds. She also leads the team with 20 RBI.


Kristen Sexton (Fr., Gulfport/West Harrison) leads with a .429 batting average, and Nora Keehn (So., Thibodaux, La./Vandebilt Catholic) has a 1.82 ERA that has helped her compile an 8-3 record with two saves.
