Mississippi Gulf Coast saw its three-game win streak snapped Tuesday, falling 78-72 at LSU-Eunice.
The Lady Bulldogs nearly erased a 12-point halftime deficit, cutting it to two heading into the fourth quarter.
"Going into conference, I thought we needed this so we could prepare for the teams we're getting ready to play," Gulf Coast coach Hope Adams said. "We have to have tunnel vision, dial in and get focused. Every game has to be that way."
Gulf Coast falls to 3-2, while LSU-E is 5-2.
The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Bengals 22-8 in the third quarter.
"I saw a lot of improvement," Adams said. "It's just the little details that come with growth. It was good for us."
Gulf Coast returns to action Nov. 30, traveling to Delgado in New Orleans. The Lady Bulldogs' next home game is Dec. 6 when Delgado visits the Weathers/Wentzell Center.
