Mississippi Gulf Coast blanked Holmes in women's tennis action Thursday, winning 9-0.

Bianca Buie (So, Baia Mare, Romania/Gheorghe Sincai National High School), Margarita Lopareva (Fr, Moscow, Russia/School No. 1101), Tierney Holmes (Fr, Greenwood/Greenwood) and Jillianne Craft (So, Gulfport/St. Patrick) each dropped only one game in sweeping their singles matches.

Buie and Lopareva won their doubles match 8-3, and Lyons teamed with Megan Bankston (Fr, Gulfport/Gulfport) to win 8-1.

Holmes dressed only four players, so Gulf Coast won a doubles match and two singles matches by forfeit.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Feb. 22 when they entertain Coastal Alabama-South. First serve at the MGCCC Tennis Complex is at 1 p.m.
