Lopareva-Bankston win match at nationals

Mississippi Gulf Coast's No. 1 doubles team of Margarita Lopareva and Megan Bankston won their match Monday to stay alive in the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship in Tyler, Texas.

The duo downed Mesa's Sabrina Sanchez and Ana Villalvavzo 8-2, and they'll play again the consolation bracket Tuesday.

Lopareva and Bankston each dropped their singles matches earlier in the day.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude either Thursday or Friday, depending on the weather.
