MGCCC basketball sweeps Bishop State

PERKINSTON---The home openers were successful for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as both men’s and women’s teams defeated Bishop State.

The Bulldogs (3-1) trailed at halftime but came back to defeat the Wildcats 66-57 while the Lady Bulldogs (3-0) steamrolled Bishop State 75-33. Hellanisa Young led the way with 15 points while Malaney Nickey had 12 and Yasmine Nelson added 10.

The Gulf Coast men take on Spring Hill’s Junior Varsity team Nov. 12 while both teams travel to Baton Rouge Nov. 14.
