PERKINSTON---The last MACJC South Division battles before the Christmas Break were successful for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as both the men and women earned victories over Southwest.

The Bulldogs (10-1, 2-0) are riding an eight-game winning streak after an 84-66 decision over Southwest featuring a game-high 28 points from JaMichael Hawkins. Chris Bilbo added 17, Darius Forest had 16, and Giancarlo Santiago tallied 13 points in the victory.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-3, 1-1) got past Southwest 88-71 behind 18 points from Samara Dingiswayo. Presley Owens had 14 points, Brittany Jones had 12, Shameika Hart added 11, and Yasmine Nelson had 10 to make it five Gulf Coast players scoring in double figures.

Gulf Coast travels to Bishop State Thursday in the last games before the Christmas Break.
