MGCCC’S Nix MACJC Player of the Week

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College guard Markia Nix is the MACJC’S women’s Player of the week for the week of Jan. 21-27. It’s the second time Nix has earned this honor in 2012-13,

Nix, a sophomore from Moss Point, scored a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) in a 62-53 win over Jones Jan. 22 then followed that up with a 20 point, 16 rebound effort (another double-double) in a 61-50 win over Faulkner St. Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs (13-3, 4-1) are currently riding a seven-game winning streak heading into Monday’s road game at Hinds.

In 2012-13, Nix is averaging 13.4 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game for Gulf Coast.
