Pre-Tryout Workshop:
April 5, 2013 at 5 pm & April 6, 2013 at 9 am at the Weathers-Wentzel Center, MGCCC Perkinston Campus
Closed Tryouts:
April 7, 2013 at 2 pm

The MGCCC Bulldog Cheerleading Squad carries 16 members and 1 alternate and is open to both men and women. All tryout requirements are the same for both men and women. Cheerleaders and mascot must maintain 15 hours and a 2.5 GPA while attending MGCCC and must live on campus. Scholarships are available.
The Bulldog mascot and cheerleaders are a regular sight on the MGCCC sidelines and basketball courts. The mascot and cheerleader must be able to attend all home football and basketball games, be available to travel to away football games and basketball tournaments, and attend many scheduled appearances.
Cheerleader/Mascot Requirements
- Completed cheerleader/mascot application, release from liability form, photograph, plus three recommendations (Application and recommendation forms available online at www.mgccc.edu. Go to the Cheerleader link under Athletics.)
- 2.5 high school or college grade point average. Please provide verification of GPA from high school official (form included in packet) or college transcript if applicable.
- Attendance – Candidates must arrive on time and stay for the entire workshop and tryout until dismissed.
Cheerleader candidates will be judged on the following:
- Cheerleading Skills, which includes motions, dance ability, technique, spirit, original chant and enthusiasm
- Overall Presentation
- Attitude
- Interview and Workshop Performance
Mascot applicants must perform an original two- to three- minute skit and will be evaluated on the following:
- Theme
- Originality
- Use of props
- Character/Personality
- Impromptu ability
- Overall crowd appeal
