Southwest sweeps MGCCC basketball

SUMMIT---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College endured two tough losses Feb. 4th against Southwest, with the men falling 88-81 in overtime and the women dropping a 71-60 decision.
The Bulldogs (13-6, 4-4) were led by Chris Bilbo and JaMichael Hawkins, who both had 24 points, while Giancarlo Santiago added 10.
The Lady Bulldogs (14-5, 5-3) got 16 points from Shameika Hart, 15 from Presley Owens, and 11 from Markia Nix in the team’s second straight loss.
Gulf Coast goes back on the road Thursday to face Pearl River with game times at 5 & 7 p.m.
