MGCCC golf takes MACJC event #2

RAYOMOND---Make it eight straight for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College golf team.
The Bulldogs made up an eight shot deficit to come from behind and win MACJC Event #2 by five shots. The 36-hole event was hosted by Hinds at the college’s Eagle Ridge Golf Course.
Gulf Coast, the five-time defending Region 23 Champions and three-time MACJC Champs, shot 321-304---625, five shots better than second place Co-Lin (313-317---630). Co-Lin’s Corbin May shot 71-76---147 and was the tournament’s Low Medalist while Bulldog sophomore Brad Thornton shot 82-72---154 and finished third individually.
The Bulldog golf team has now won eight straight MACJC events dating back to last season.
Gulf Coast will take part in the Goosepond Spring Fling in Scottsboro, AL Mar. 14-16 then returns to MACJC competition Mar. 17-18 at Co-Lin.
