The MGCCC men’s and women’s tennis teams are on the 2010-11 NJCAA Academic All-American list.

Three Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College sports teams are among the best in the NJCAA outside of the classroom as well as on the field. This week the NJCAA released its list of All-Academic Teams for the 2010-11 season featuring the Bulldog softball team and both Gulf Coast tennis squads.

The Lady Bulldogs not only won their first MACJC South Division title in 2011 but also scored an NJCAA All-Academic Team worthy grade point average of 3.10. The men’s tennis squad’s team GPA is 3.47 while the ladies tennis team came in at 3.18.

Gulf Coast wide receiver Curt Amacker is one of the NJCAA’S 2010-11 Academic Student-Athlete Award honorees with his 3.8 GPA. Amacker, a Stone County native, transferred to West Alabama after a standout football career at Gulf Coast.
